HALLOWEEN 1
Halloween is a traditional celebration on 31st of
October. It comes from the Celts in Ireland. They believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to the Earth
that day. So, they lighted bonfires and jack-o-lanterns to keep them away.
Nowadays children dress up in scary costumes and they
go from house to house asking for candies. They say “Trick or treat? If they don´t
receive candies, they will make a trick!
On Halloween night, people also go to costume parties,
visit haunted houses, watch horror films with friends or tell horror stories.
People decorate houses with jack- o-lanterns: pumpkins with faces and a
candle inside that look scary. People put them in front of the windows.
There are funny Halloween games such as “bobbing for
apples”.
